About OvertimeTaxCalc
What We Do
OvertimeTaxCalc.com provides free, browser-based calculators that help American workers estimate their federal tax savings under the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (P.L. 119-21). Our tools cover the "No Tax on Overtime" and "No Tax on Tips" deductions effective for tax years 2025-2028.
How We Built It
Every number in our calculators traces directly to a primary IRS or government source. We use:
- IRS FAQ — Questions and answers about qualified overtime compensation
- IRS Newsroom — OBBBA tax deduction caps, phaseouts, and eligibility
- IRS Publication 15 — FICA rates, Social Security wage base, Medicare thresholds
- P.L. 119-21 — The text of the law itself (§70201 for tips, §70202 for overtime)
- IRS Rev. Proc. 2024-40 — 2025 federal income tax brackets
Our calculator uses the bracket-spanning method — computing tax(taxable) - tax(taxable - deduction) — which correctly handles deductions that cross bracket boundaries. See our methodology page for details.
The full editorial process — sourcing policy, claim labelling, update cadence, AI-tool disclosure, and corrections protocol — is documented in the editorial standards page.
Privacy by Design
The calculator runs entirely in your browser. No personal data is sent to any server. No income, wages, or tax information is collected or stored. See our privacy policy for details.
Not Tax Advice
This site provides educational estimates only. We are not CPAs, tax attorneys, or financial advisors. Always consult a qualified tax professional for advice about your specific situation. See our full disclaimer.
